Old age symptoms

By seniorcitizensbureau

The time to consider the changes the ageing body is going through is during the advent of senescence. We need to understand the types of probable old age diseases in order to cope with them gracefully. As you age the body cells deteriorate and are less able to heal and multiply. The body generates less disease-fighting antibodies, which is why elderly people are more prone to a plethora of infectious diseases.

Wrinkled skin, reduced muscle strength, stooping posture, loss of teeth, salt-and-pepper hair or baldness, brittle and weak bones, joint stiffness and pain, hardened arteries, vision errors, hearing impairment and incontinence are some of the symptoms of growing old. Some of the mental illnesses that occur include absentmindedness, amnesia, poor judgment and childish behavior. The Senior Citizens Bureau is a national, non-profit community resource for the elderly, children of the elderly and other caregivers to the elderly, advocates and professionals.

They have a 24-hour hotline, which can be utilized to access and learn more about their many services at any time. They are the one stop information shop for the senior community. For a long time seniors have been the unfortunate targets of scams, abuse and fraud. This, of course, has led to distrust amongst the senior community of service providers. The SCB acts as a liaison or “middle-man” between the senior and the provider. They will be able to provide information on homes for elderly assistance, homes for elderly care, homes for elderly care services, homes for elderly caregiver, homes for elderly parents and homes for elderly services.
